Final painting of Oscar

This A3 oil painting of Oscar took two weeks to complete. I really love how the darkness of the background pulls Oscar forward. My favourite part of the painting is the eyes and the area around them, which I felt pulled the whole painting together, because of their darkness and flecks of light within them. Often it can be hard to put detail into white animals because of their light fur, however, using Derwent Academy Pencils really helped to complete the depth of the painting. I also really like the hair around the mouth because of the way it drops down and curls to different sides, which also uses the pencils for tiny details.
