Skippy

This A3 oil painting of Tabby cat Skippy was completed in one and a half weeks, and was an amazing portrait to complete. The bright colours of the curtain made a great template for the abstract paint strokes in the background. The ginger tones in the fur are great, as the pinkness from the nose and ears compliment this colour perfectly. I really enjoyed focusing on the right ear, as it is partially transparent meaning the light from the window would have been shining through, making the ear appear golden in hue. I used Derwent Academy Pencils to complete any final details so that this portrait was complete.
