Final painting of Tess

This A4 acrylic painting of Tess was completed in one week. The part of Tess I really love is that her hair is wiry, meaning that a lot of texture can be bought into the fur. I love the effect that the different tones on the face give to the overall piece, as well as the built up hair on top of one another. I feel that the light that is reflected off of the pupils gives the painting a better feel of realism, adding to the detail of the painting. The hair around the eyes was created using tiny brushes and Derwent Academy Pencils to mimic the small hairs surrounding the eye area.
